Michael Lopez-Alegria, made ten spacewalks (67 hours and 40 min) incl second longest all-time EVA duration record and third longest American spaceflight (215 days).During flight STS-92, he tested the SAFER jet backpack flying up to 50 feet from the spacecraft. Aquanaut on the first NEEMO crew aboard the Aquarius underwater lab in 2001.On Sept 20, 2006 he docked with the ISS as Commander of Expedition 14 onboard Soyuz TMA-9. On Expedition 14, he performed five spacewalks. In 2007 he undocked from the ISS.
