Blast off from Sweden

Danish businessman Per Wimmer will be the first Dane in space when
he travels with Virgin Galactic
The northern Swedish town of Kiruna will be one of the launch sites for the new Virgin Galactic space trips. Started by UK businessman Richard Branson this company will give people the chance to buy a trip into space and experience 2-3 minutes of zero gravity – at a cost of 200,000 US dollars.
The company says that ticket price will sink fast, possibly down to 20,000 dollars by 2011.
Apart from Kiruna, New Mexico, USA, will be the other launch site. Swedish travel agents have been bidding to be the representatives for the space trips. One of the winners was Ice Hotel Travel i Jukkasjärvi, which is already involved in trips to Sweden’s far north.
