Space tourism is getting more and more popular these days. This is evident with the fact that the prices are being lowered of such trips quite significantly. Per Wimmer​, a banker is set to be the first customer of private space tourism company Xcor. He only has to wait till 2010 when he will quite possibly fly to an altitude of 200,000 ft in the Lynx, a two-seater jet-powered spaceplane. It is a pretty short flight that lasts only 30 minutes for $74,000, which is peanuts, compared to what the prices used to be. It will let you experience weightlessness for several minutes. It is set to take off and land under its own power through four jet engines – reaching Mach 2 before gliding back to earth. Winner runs the investment bank Wimmer Financial and resides in Islington.

He is very excited at looking at the earth from that angle and has said, ‘It’s the view of the earth I’m really looking forward to, I think it will be an unforgettable experience to see the dark of space against the curve of the earth.’ But he doesn’t want to end his journey here and has bought two more space tickets with Virgin Galactic​ and Space Adventures. Xcor’s main objective is to cut down costs of space travel and make it more accessible to people.
