Skydivers Attempt Freefall Over Mount Everest

Climbing the highest mountain in the world — forget it. A group of 34 skydivers from 14 nations will attempt a freefall above Mount Everest. It’ll be the first parachute jump over the peak. They’ll need extra large parachutes because of the thin air. Weather permitting, they’ll dive next week from nearly 500 feet above the summit, aiming for a flat zone 17,000 feet below.
